Teachers and nurses, take advantage of these Appreciation Week freebies

It’s that time of the year again to appreciate those in our community who serve others for a living.

Teacher Appreciation Week will be from Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8. Nurses Appreciation Week will be from Wednesday, May 6 to Tuesday, May 12.

We’ve compiled a list of local deals and freebies for teachers and nurses to take advantage of this year.

Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Week freebies

McAlister’s Deli

• From May 4 to May 8 for teachers and nurses
• Big Sweet Tea, Unsweet Tea, ½ Sweet & ½ Unsweet Tea, or ½ Lemonade & ½ Sweet/Unsweet Tea (flavor shots excluded). No purchase necessary.
• Must show valid teacher (or nurse) ID
• One per person

Shake Shack

• From May 4 to May 12 for teachers and nurses
• Free ShackBurger or VeggieShack with $10 minimum purchase.
• Must show valid teacher (or nurse) ID, in person

Whataburger

• Thursday, May 7, from 5 to 9 a.m. for teachers only
• Free Breakfast on a Bun, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, or Taquito
• Must show valid teacher ID in person

Both nurses and teachers should ensure their Chick-fil-A apps are up to date in the ID.me section with community status set as nurse or teacher. Check your local Chick-fil-A store for what freebie they may have during the designated appreciation weeks.
