An 18-year-old man was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as the victim of a fatal crash Monday evening involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 20 in west Fort Worth.

Daniel Felipe Sanchez, one of the drivers, died at the scene of the crash on I-20 eastbound/Southwest Loop 820 near Bryant Irvin Road about 5:30 p.m., police said.

Sanchez turned 18 last month and his family is heartbroken to lose him, Anay Sanchez wrote in a GoFundMe post organized for funeral expenses.

“Anyone who knew Daniel knows that he always had a smile on his face, was always making people laugh,” the post reads. “Daniel had a dream to paint cars and open up his own paint shop and at a young age was working toward achieving that goal.”

Police have not released details on how many vehicles were involved and said the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
