2 suspects arrested after stabbing critically injures person in Fort Worth

Two suspects were arrested in Fort Worth after a stabbing critically injured a person during a family violence incident Tuesday night, police said.

Vanessa Basaldu, 38, and Jose Basaldu, 39, were booked at the Fort Worth Police Detention Center on Tuesday. Vanessa Basaldu faces a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury-family violence, according to jail records. Jose Basaldu has been transferred to the Tarrant County Jail and faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers responded about 6 p.m. to the stabbing in the 3100 block of James Avenue, in south Fort Worth, police said in a statement.

When officers arrived, they found the stabbing victim, who was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said officers are investigating the circumstances of the stabbing.
