Firefighters battle a two-alarm blaze at The Celine apartment complex in west Fort Worth on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Twelve residents were displaced by the fire.

A two-alarm fire broke out at a west Fort Worth apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Firefighters respond to The Celine apartment complex about 1:44 p.m. in the 9000 block of Brian Way Circle, near Interstate 30 and Loop 820, after multiple residents reported a fire at that location.

When firefighters arrived they saw heavy fire coming from the first and second floors, a fire department spokesperson said.

Firefighters worked to put out the blaze for about 15 minutes and called for a second alarm, the spokesperson said. It was brought under control about 30 minutes after it started. No one was injured, and firefighters rescued two cats and reunited them with their owners.

The fire damaged six units. The American Red Cross responded to help the twelve residents who were displaced.

Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
