A 25-year-old North Texas woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to human trafficking charges.

Emily Hutchins recruited girls into prostitution and kept most of their earnings for herself, according to Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells.

If the victims didn’t want to comply, Hutchins told them they wouldn’t have a place to live or threatened to expose them to their family and friends.

The Arlington Police Department filed multiple charges against Hutchins in August 2023, including continuous trafficking of persons and tampering with a witness, according to court records.

She pleaded guilty to aggravated promotion of prostitution on Dec. 22 as part of a plea deal with the District Attorney’s Office.
