Two people, including a 17-year-old girl, were killed in related shootings after a fight Monday afternoon in an east Fort Worth park, police said.

Officers were working on an unrelated disturbance call about 2:15 p.m. when they heard shots coming from the 1500 block of Liberty Street, just north of Rosedale Street, police said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased person on the ground with gunshot wounds, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim found at the park as 17-year-old Cyanna Boone.

About 2:20 p.m. officers responded to a separate shooting call in the 1700 block of Handley Drive, where officers found a parked car occupied with one person with a gunshot wound, police said. The victim apparently was shot at the park and drove or was driven to the area near a gas station on Handley Drive.

According to the 911 call log, the person shot was a 19-year-old man. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.

Investigators determined that another occupant from the vehicle fled on foot, and he was later found in a residence nearby, police said.

The shootings unfolded as a group of 15 to 20 people met at the city park located at 1500 Liberty St., where an argument led to a fight. That’s when an unknown gunman began shooting a handgun at the homicide victims, according to police.

No arrests have been announced in the shootings.

Police said “evidence suggests the shootings are related,” and there are no known threats to the community.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man who died after next of kin have been notified.
