Fort Worth Fire Department shares funeral details for Captain Daniel Cearley
The Fort Worth Fire Department has shared funeral arrangements for a captain who died after an accident last week.
Capt. Daniel Cearley, 50, died on Aug. 13 in a tragic accident resulting from a fall, the Fire Department said in a social media post. His funeral service and visitation will be held this week.
Capt. Cearley served the city for 28 years and was an exemplary firefighter and leader, the department said.
Cearley served as the special events coordinator for the Fire Department. “He dedicated countless hours, behind the scenes, ensuring that residents and guests at all of Fort Worth’s events were safe,” the department said. “Captain Cearley’s legacy with the Fort Worth Fire Department will not soon be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
Funeral arrangements
Community members can pay their last respects to Cearley during visitation on Friday, Aug. 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, at 3344 White Settlement Road in Fort Worth.
The funeral service starts Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. in the St. Stephen Presbyterian Church, at 2700 McPherson Ave.

Following the funeral services, the internment will be conducted at Greenwood Cemetery, at 3100 White Settlement Road. This portion will not be livestreamed.
