A North Texas family is mourning a 21-year-old woman who was killed in a crash near Meacham Airport in Fort Worth on Sunday morning.

The woman who died was identified as Alyssa Loughry by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“My baby, my best friend, my first born, my first love is gone,” Loughry’s mother, Nancy Jones, of Rhome, Texas, wrote in a GoFundMe post.

“Never in a million years did I think I would find myself in this situation,” Jones wrote. “Alyssa Loughry went to heaven this morning to be with my mom.”

Offices responded to a call about the fatal accident at 150 Terminal Road, on the east side of Meacham International Airport, at about 4 a.m. on Sunday, Fort Worth police said.

Investigators determined that two vehicles collided head-on and Loughry, who was a passenger in one of the cars, died at the scene, police said. One driver was seriously injured and had to be removed from their vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and no arrests have been made, police said.

Jones said that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. A police spokesperson said on Tuesday that one of the drivers remains in the hospital and that detectives are waiting on evidence before they can pursue any potential charges.
