A 25-year-old woman was fatally shot in south Fort Worth early Sunday while she was on her way “to engage in a fight with females who were present,” according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

About 3:45 a.m., officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 1700 block of East Robert Street. Officers said they found the woman dead in a vehicle there. She had been shot multiple times.

A second shooting victim showed up at a local hospital seeking treatment for gunshot wounds, which police believe is related to the same case.

Homicide detectives determined that the deceased and surviving victims were together when they went to the scene, planning to fight with a group of people. The surviving victim was driving, and as the vehicle approached the group, unidentified suspects fired multiple shots, hitting the vehicle and both victims, police said.

The suspects fled, and no arrests have been made.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman who died as Aliyah Rayann Miles.

The case was one of two homicides that Fort Worth police investigated early Sunday. In the other case, a man was shot through the door of his motel room in north Fort Worth.
