Road improvements are coming to these Fort Worth neighborhoods. Here’s the schedule
Later this month, Fort Worth plans to begin two years’ worth of construction across more than a dozen stretches of road in neighborhoods west and south of downtown.
Crews will replace water lines and repave streets in and around the Greater Como and Rosemont neighborhoods, city officials said in a virtual presentation Wednesday evening; some segments will receive new sidewalks and sewer lines. Here are the streets scheduled to get a facelift:
Carver Drive, from Prevost Street to Hervie Street: Construction is scheduled to begin this month and wrap up by January 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new a new sidewalk on the north side of the street. These improvements are bond funded.
Fernander Drive, from Prevost Street to Hervie Street: Construction is scheduled to begin this month and wrap up by January 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new a new sidewalk on the northside of the street. These improvements are bond funded.

Prevost Street, from West Vickery Boulevard to Helmick Avenue: Construction is scheduled to begin this month and wrap up by January 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line and new asphalt paving. These improvements are bankrolled by the water department.
Frazier Avenue (S), from West Bolt Street to Flint Street: Construction is scheduled to begin in May and wrap up by June 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new sidewalks on both sides of the street. These improvements are bond funded.
Townsend Drive, from West Drew Street to Flint Street: Construction is scheduled to begin in May and wrap up by June 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, a new eight inch sewer line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new sidewalks on both sides of the street. These improvements are bond funded.
West Drew Street, from Wayside Avenue to Frazier Avenue: Construction is scheduled to begin in May and wrap up by June 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line and new asphalt paving. These improvements are bankrolled by the water department.
Bolt Street, from McCart Avenue to East Railroad: Construction is scheduled to begin in May and wrap up by June 2026. This stretch will receive a new 12-inch water line, a new 8-inch sewer line, and new asphalt paving. These improvements are bankrolled by the water department.
Townsend Drive, from Flint Street to West Pafford Street — Construction is scheduled to begin in May and wrap up by June 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line and new asphalt paving. These improvements are bankrolled by the water department.
Wayside Avenue, from West Drew Street to West Bolt Street: Construction is scheduled to begin in August and wrap up by February 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new sidewalks on both sides of the street. These improvements are bond funded.
Wayside Avenue, from Biddison Street to Butler Street: Construction is scheduled to begin in August and wrap up by February 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new asphalt street paving, and new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width. These improvements are bankrolled by the water department.
Wayside Avenue, from Dickson Street to Waggoman Street: Construction is scheduled to begin this August and wrap up by February 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line and new asphalt street paving. These improvements are bankrolled by the water department.
Frazier Avenue (N), from Cleburne Road to West Biddison Street: Construction is scheduled to begin this August and wrap up by February 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new sidewalks on both sides of the street. These improvements are bond funded.
8th Avenue, from West Dickson Street to West Pafford Street: Construction is scheduled to begin in December and wrap up by July 2026. This stretch will receive a new 8-inch water line, new concrete paving and curbs, new concrete driveways at least 11 feet in width, and new sidewalks on both sides of the street. These improvements are bond funded.
The city estimates all of the improvements will cost around $14.5 million.
Households impacted by the construction should receive notices from the city a week and a day before construction is slated to begin on their street.
City officials said Wednesday that water transmission may shut off for several hours as crews uproot old water mains and replace them. Work crews will coordinate with homeowners to relocate parked cars and trash bins over the course of construction.
