Man fatally struck by 18-wheeler while crossing I-35W in Fort Worth, police say

A man was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler while trying to cross Interstate 35W in Fort Worth on Monday night, police said.

Officers responded to the fatal accident in the 2600 block of I-35W around 10:40 p.m. on Monday, March 31. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to police.

The driver of the 18-wheeler stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. It’s not clear if the driver will face charges.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the pedestrian.

The southbound lanes of I-35W were closed at Rosedale Street for a time Monday night due to the crash, officials said.

Traffic detectives are investigating the fatal accident, according to police.
