Two injured when vehicle crashes into apartments in White Settlement, police say
Two people were injured and a man was arrested after he crashed his pickup truck into two apartments in White Settlement on Monday evening, police said.
At about 5:10 p.m., the motorist backed his vehicle into an apartment building in the 8100 block of Silver Creek Road, police said.
That collision knocked out power to the building and caused major damage to a load-bearing wall, injuring a woman who was asleep on her couch.
The woman was taken to a hospital with head trauma, but is expected to survive, police said.
The driver then traveled forward at a high speed, hitting another building in the 8100 block of Foxfire Lane and injuring an occupant of another apartment, police said.
The resident of that apartment was treated at the scene for minor injuries, officials said.
Officers found the driver unconscious and not responding to commands while seated inside the truck, police said. After officers noticed drug items in view, they administered Narcan to the driver.
The motorist was charged with one count of intoxication assault and taken to the hospital out of caution, where he remains in custody pending medical release, police said.
