How many spring breakers visited the Fort Worth Zoo for half-off Wednesdays?
If you noticed the surplus of traffic along University Drive during the last two weeks, it’s because of the thousands of spring breakers who went to the Fort Worth Zoo.
The zoo didn’t break any daily attendance records during spring break this year, but attendance from March 10-21 — when most North Texas school districts were on break — totaled around 158,198 guests, according to zoo officials.
Wednesdays were especially crowded, thanks to the zoo’s half-off admission deal (which will continue throughout the whole year). The zoo saw 14,165 guests on Wednesday, March 12, and 18,678 on Wednesday, March 19.
Previous daily attendance records include a day in spring break 2013, when the zoo counted 26,370 guests. The zoo broke that record on March 13, 2024, with 26,433 people, according to a news release.
