Woman dies after crash that closed part of I-35W to traffic in Fort Worth, police say

A 25-year-old Waco woman has died after a crash that involved several cars on Interstate 35W in south Fort Worth on Friday morning, authorities said.

All northbound lanes at Garden Acres Drive were closed following the wreck, the Texas Department of Transportation posted on X around 9:45 a.m. The lanes reopened before noon.

Police responded to the northbound lanes of I-35W near Risinger Road around 8:45 a.m. Friday, March 7, after someone reported the accident involving at least three vehicles — a Toyota Tundra pickup truck and two cars — according to the 911 call log.

MedStar officials confirmed one person hospitalized in critical condition. The Fire Department later said the woman died at the hospital, and three other people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Denasia Destiny Nobles. She died in the operating room at John Peter Smith Hospital around 10:15 a.m. Nobles’ cause and manner of death are still pending an autopsy.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
