One woman was killed and two other residents were injured after a northwest Fort Worth home caught fire Thursday afternoon, Fire Department spokesperson Craig Trojacek said.

Firefighters arrived at the house in the 6100 block of Tilapia Drive about 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, responding to the residential fire, according to 911 call log.

The woman was taken in critical condition to the hospital, where she later died. Two other residents were treated at the scene by MedStar, Trojacek said.

A second alarm was called because firefighters initially weren’t sure how many people were inside the house. The second alarm was later canceled, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The woman who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
