The Fort Worth Fire Department is investigating the cause of a blaze that killed a 72-year-old woman in the southeast part of the city Wednesday night, fire officials said.

Crews were dispatched to the Forest Glen Manufactured Home Community around 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, after receiving a call for emergency medical services. While they were responding, more calls came in about a fire at that location.

When firefighters arrived at the scene in the 4900 block of Collett Little Road, they learned there was a possibility that two people were still inside a mobile home that was on fire, officials said. Heavy fire was already coming from the center of the home.

Firefighters found a woman inside. She was quickly taken out of the burning building and given emergency care, according to fire officials. She died from her injuries at a hospital.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Cynthia Dotson Scranton. The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
