Interstate 35W in Fort Worth now open after major crash involving 18-wheeler early Friday

The northbound lanes of Interstate 35W at Basswood Boulevard in Fort Worth are now open after being closed early Friday due to a major crash, officials said.

Officers responded to the location shortly after 4 a.m. The crash involved a car and an 18-wheeler, police said. The 18-wheeler overturned, and a heavy-duty wrecker was called to remove it.

The Texas Department of Transportation posted about the closure on X around 4:45 a.m. and said motorists were encouraged to seek other routes.

Three people received minor injuries, according to MedStar.

TxDOT officials said on X shortly before 7 a.m. that all lanes were open.
