Fort Worth police have arrested seven people in connection with an ATM theft ring based out of Houston, officials with the department said Wednesday.

Police were already investigating several ATM thefts they believed the men had committed in Fort Worth and received a tip on Jan. 16 that suspects were traveling back to attempt more thefts, officials said.

Officers set up a surveillance operation and followed the suspects to an ATM in the 3800 block of Hulen Street, according to a statement.

At the scene, three suspects got out of a stolen Ford F250 and approached the ATM with a pry bar and sledgehammer, police said.

The suspects then attempted to use the stolen vehicle and tow straps to pull the machine from its location, according to the statement.

Officers then approached the suspects with the intention to arrest them and all three ran before being arrested without incident, police said.

Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department’s K9 and Directed Response units stopped two vehicles allegedly being used as lookouts and arrested four more suspects, according to the statement.

Police identified the seven suspects as Jamarkus Bogany, age 23; Eric Davenport, age 40; Traveon Lopez, age 37; Letrevious Pegese, age 23; Mitchell Prince, age 23; Andre Varnado, age 30 and Andreius Wynn-Farley, age 29.

All of the suspects were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, police said. Bogany, Lopez and Wynn-Farley were also charged with evading arrest.
