Black Friday is almost here which means Fort Worth area retailers are expecting hordes of shoppers — even opening early to accommodate deal hunters.

While the day after Thanksgiving — which is on Nov. 29 this year — is not a federal holiday, many refer to Black Friday as a “retail holiday.” Black Friday also serves as the unofficial start of the Christmas shopping season.
