Whataburger, TCU made the latest ‘Landman’ episode. What else was featured around Fort Worth
The second episode of Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” contained several references to Fort Worth, including scenes filmed at Texas Christian University.
“Landman” stars Billy Bob Thornton and is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs.” The Paramount+ series premiered its first two episodes on Nov. 17 and will air new episodes weekly on Sundays.
Since “Landman” was filmed in the Lone Star State and is set in West Texas and Fort Worth, viewers can expect in-house references in the series. Episode one included mentions of Fort Worth’s Meacham International Airport and the Petroleum Club.
Here’s a look at all the Texas and Fort Worth references in the second episode.
TX Whiskey
Around six minutes into the episode, Dale (James Jordan) comes home and pours himself a glass of TX Whiskey.
TX Whiskey is distilled in Fort Worth at the company’s “Whiskey Ranch” at 2601 Whiskey Ranch Road. The Star-Telegram toured the facilities earlier this year.

Around 19 minutes in, Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) is checked out at Midland General Hospital for a smashed finger.
The exterior of the hospital was filmed at Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro, Texas. Jacksboro High School’s baseball field can also be seen in the background.
Production in Jacksboro took place in February, according to the Texas Hospital Association.
