North Texas DPS offices to open on the weekend. When you can start making appointments

The Texas Department of Public Safety is opening several North Texas driver’s license offices on Saturdays this month.

Select offices statewide will open for half days each Saturday in October to serve customers by appointment only, DPS announced Wednesday. To make an appointment visit https://www.txdpsscheduler.com/.

The following North Texas DPS officers will open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 and 26:

  • Fort Worth
  • Garland
  • Dallas south
  • Lake Worth
  • Carrollton
  • Denton

The department also offered Saturday appointment in September, however, many people who made appointments did not show up.

Around 30% of people didn’t show up for scheduled appointments, DPS said. Moving forward in October, the department is asking customers to cancel appointments if they can longer make them.
