State Fair of Texas: Where to try Martin House and Fletcher’s mustard beer collaboration

A beer can labeled Fletcher's Original Corny Dog Mustard Beer sits on a wooden table.
On Saturday, June 10, Martin House Brewing and Fletcher’s Corny Dogs celebrate “glizzys,” or hot dogs, with its second-annual Glizzy Fest and a new mustard flavored beer. The beer is a taproom exclusive, and the Star-Telegram was invited to try it out along with three other beers.

Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs is bringing an interesting flavor of beer to this year’s State Fair of Texas.

The fried food company has been a fixture at the annual event since debuting its corny dogs at the 1942 fair. While known for its variety of corny dogs, the eatery also serves funnel cakes, curly fries, and deep-fried Oreos.

This year, Fletcher’s is giving fairgoers a chance to try mustard-flavored beer.

The beverage, called “Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs Mustard Beer,” was made by Fort Worth’s Martin House Brewing Company.

Fletcher’s and Martin House collaborated on the beer, which was first introduced last year at the brewery’s annual hot dog-centric event, Glizzy Fest. The brewery started the festival in 2022 and always brews something unique for the event, such as a hot dog water-flavored seltzer.

The mustard beer made another appearance at this past summer’s Glizzy Fest and is now available for the first time at the State Fair of Texas at three Fletcher’s stands:

  • Near Big Tex
  • Near the Texas Star Ferris Wheel at the Corny Cafe
  • Near the Thrillway

Where to park, how much tickets cost, and when State Fair of Texas ends

All official fair parking lots cost $30 and are located near pedestrian gates. The most convenient parking lot is located at 925 S. Haskell Ave.

Bicycle racks are on a first come, first served basis and are located inside gates 5, 6, and 11. For those looking to forgo parking altogether, taking the train from Fort Worth to Dallas is a hassle-free option.

Daily admission tickets cost $15 to $25 for adults, $10 to $18 for children, and $5 to $18 for seniors.

The fair does offer $5 discounts for military members and first responders who show identification when buying tickets online or in person.

Fairgoers can also save $5 on tickets by finding coupons at McDonald’s and using them at purchase. For the fair fanatic, a season pass that allows access once per day on all 24 days is $50.

Here is everything else you need to know about the event that runs from now until Sunday, Oct. 20, at Dallas’ Fair Park.
