Help needed for Fort Worth police officer and family after home destroyed by fire
A Fort Worth police officer and his family are in need of help after their Crowley home was destroyed in a fire caused by lightning early Monday.
Officer Jesus Flores told KXAS-TV that he and his family were awakened by a loud boom. Flores got up to see what was going on and saw thick black smoke.
“As we get out, I take a look at the roof and I see the roof starting a pretty big fire, a large size fire,” Flores said.
The family was left with nothing, the nonprofit organization Brotherhood for the Fallen said in a social media post. They are in need of baby items, clothes and other personal necessities.
A GoFundMe has been set up for the Flores family, and items can also be purchased from their Amazon wish list.
