It’s not too late to order Valentine’s Day flowers in Fort Worth. These florists can help

Flowers are the quintessential romantic gesture, and the countdown is on to get them in time for Valentine’s Day.

Local florists are preparing thousands of orders for the Valentine’s Day rush. Here’s where to buy flowers in the Fort Worth area, what you should get and when you should order them by.

After the average sale went up by $15 last year, store manager Cheri Kirkman says sales are about the same this year. People are mostly ordering the go-to dozen red roses.

For a unique arrangement, she recommends asking a designer to create a personalized bouquet.

“We have some of the best designers in Texas. That allows them the creativity to kind of put together something unique for you with the roses and other fresh flowers that we have available, and then you can just pick your price. Whatever you can imagine, we can do it,” Kirkman said.

She said Valentine’s Day flower delivery will be tough this year because there are not enough delivery drivers. The store employs 18 delivery drivers who each do 25 to 30 deliveries a day, totaling 400 to 500 deliveries on Valentine’s Day.

“We always hope for more, because the more we have, the quicker we can get it delivered,” Kirkman says.

Customers are ordering later this year compared to last Valentine’s day, with orders picking up closer to the weekend. Customers could order flowers for delivery until 10 a.m. on Valentine’s Day, but Kirkman recommends ordering early. Depending on when it’s placed, the order should arrive between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.

Aside from red roses, stargazer lilies and tulips have also been a popular option, store manager Melissa Brock said. The florist is running a special deal this year on pavé arrangements, consisting of short rounded out flowers. Classic long stem roses are still being ordered as well.

If flowers aren’t your person’s thing, you can buy gifts like balloons, luxury candles, fudge and stuffed animals. For a cheaper option, you can get a spring mix.

You can order flowers for Valentine’s Day delivery through Friday. They’ll be delivered by 4 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. You can request a specific time slot for an extra fee. Monday will also be open for customers who’d like to get their flowers delivered a day early.

For a bigger arrangement, you can get the heartthrob or cloud nine arrangements with garden roses and foliage. For a cheaper option, get the sweetheart arrangement, with spray roses, tree ferns and ruscus.
