A lease dispute pushes Reata restaurant out of Sundance Square.

Parking in downtown Fort Worth has become a flash point in tensions among some restaurants and merchants who complain that fewer people are visiting the city center.

Here’s a look at all the parking options in Sundance Square and surrounding areas of downtown, including prices, locations and when and where you can park for free.

Sundance Square parking

Sundance Square has numerous parking options, including valet service and complimentary hours .

Valet parking costs $7 per half hour with a flat rate set at $21 beyond an hour and a half. There are 10 valet stands in and around the square. The valet system is cashless and uses a phone application, so drivers can drop off a vehicle at one stand and pick it up at another. The new valet service started last summer as an attempt to mitigate traffic congestion.

Sundance Square garage parking can be free with validation for Sundance Square visitors up to 2.5 hours on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. You need to present a receipt, ticket stub or business card from a Sundance Square location you visited. The complimentary parking can be extended to four hours if the driver visited the AMC Palace 9 Theatre. The garages are at 345 W. 3rd St. and 201 W. 5th St. Parking rates in both garages are $5 per half hour and max out at a flat rate of $25 a day.
