Woman shot in the leg in east Fort Worth drive-by shooting

A woman was shot and wounded early Wednesday after a drive-by shooter opened fire on Bright Street, Fort Worth police said.

The woman was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital.

Fort Worth police did not have a description of the suspect or the vehicle.

The shooting was reported shortly before 3 a.m. in the 3600 block of Bright Street in east Fort Worth.

When they arrived, patrol officers discovered that a woman had been shot during a drive-by shooting.

Fort Worth police did not release any other information on the shooting.

In the last week, there have been at least two other reported drive-by shootings in Fort Worth. A 14-year-old died Friday afternoon after being critically wounded in a shooting and three men were wounded early Monday in a drive-by shooting near a business on Race Street. Police believe a disgruntled bar patron opened fire from a vehicle in the Race Street shooting.
