Your air conditioner had better be ready! Fort Worth, North Texas expecting heat wave.
It’s going to be hot, hot, hot in North Texas this week.
And, forget about any rain chances in Tarrant County, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
The summertime heat pattern will be on this week in North Texas as above normal temperatures and high humidity will create heat index readings well into the triple digits during the second half of the week.
Morning temperatures will be in the upper 70s.
“This is textbook August weather,” said Matt Stalley, a meteorologist with the NWS in Fort Worth on Monday. “It’s going to be this way for some time.”
It was sunny and hot on Monday with a high temperature of 99.
The rest of this week, North Texas will sizzle like a steak on a grill.
Daytime temperatures on Tuesday should be in the upper 90s, and a heat index of up to 105.
It’s the same on Wednesday, but North Texans should be prepared because the heat index could reach 107.
The temperature will reach 100 on Thursday and Friday, and those heat index readings will be at 105.
The weekend isn’t any better. Daytime temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 90s.
