Men shoot at each other in car chase after gun sale gone wrong, Fort Worth police say
Two men started shooting at each other during a car chase in west Fort Worth early Thursday morning that followed a firearm transaction gone wrong, police said.
There were no reports of anyone being struck by a bullet, police said. The man who was selling the gun, who was chasing the buyer in his vehicle, had not been found as of Thursday morning, a police spokesperson said in an email.
The spokesperson couldn’t say whether the other man will face charges. The buyer told police he began firing at the seller after soneone in his car shot at him, the spokesperson said.
Officers responded to what was classified as a robbery call in the 8900 block of South Normandale Street around 1:20 a.m. Thursday, police said. They determined two men had discussed the sale of a gun over social media and agreed to meet up to make the transaction.
The seller realized the buyer hadn’t brought enough money, police said, and began chasing him in his vehicle. There was another party in the vehicle with him.
One of these individuals shot at the other man, police said, and the man shot back.
After the gunfire stopped, he noticed he was bleeding from broken glass, police said. He went home and dialed 9-1-1 to report the incident.
Robbery detectives are investigating the incident.
