Drive-by shooter kills one, injures another in Fort Worth-area parking lot, police say

A man was gunned down in a Grand Prairie parking lot Tuesday night and another man was wounded during the drive-by shooting, Grand Prairie police said Wednesday.

No arrests have been made.

Grand Prairie detectives believe the victim was targeted by the suspect and the shooting was an isolated incident.

The name of the man who died had not been released by authorities as of Wednesday.

The other person who was wounded was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Grand Prairie police said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of Arkansas Lane in Grand Prairie.

Detectives determined a car was traveling east on the street when a gunman opened fire on the victim in a parking lot. A second man also was hit by gunfire, Grand Prairie police said.

The gunman sped away from the scene.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses in hope of getting a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Anyone with information should call Grand Prairie Crime Stoppers at 972-988-8477 or go to www.GPCrimeStoppers.org.
