17-year-old girl fatally shot during drug deal near Fort Worth-area CVS, police say
A sale of marijuana vape cartridges that went wrong Saturday led to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old near a Bedford pharmacy, Bedford police said Monday.
Bedford detectives are viewing video surveillance in nearby businesses in an effort to identify the suspects and their vehicle.
Bedford police believe the suspects arrived in a silver four-door car, but authorities did not have any other details to release Monday.
The fatal shooting occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday near a CVS pharmacy, 601 N. Industrial Blvd., in Bedford.
Through the investigation, detectives learned that the 17-year-old and a female companion had made arrangements through social media to meet two males to sell THC vape cartridges.
The victim and her friend met the two males in the parking lot of CVS. One of the suspects got into a car with the two females, Bedford police said.
At some point, an argument ensued and the victim was shot in the upper body.
Bedford police identified the victim as Madison Fisher Brenes, 17, of Euless.
