Fort Worth police release photo of armed robber accused in May holdup, ask for help

An armed man in a red Nike baseball cap was caught on a surveillance camera as he pointed a handgun at a Fort Worth convenience store clerk, and police are asking the public’s help in identifying him.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of money from the store on May 23, police said.

Detectives released a photograph of the suspect this week in hopes that someone would recognize him and contact police. The photograph was pulled from a store surveillance camera.

The robber entered Quick Stop Food Mart, 3416 E. Belknap St., about 7:30 p.m. May 23 and approached the counter. He pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money from the register, Fort Worth police said.

The suspect fled on foot and was last seen in the 800 block of Hudgins Avenue.

Police described him as about 18 years old and standing about 5-foot-8. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black sweat pants, white shoes, a black face mask and the red Nike baseball cap.

Anyone with information should call police at 817-392-4377.
