Murder charge expected against Fort Worth man who fled from fatal shooting, police say

A Fort Worth man who police say fled the scene of a fatal shooting was arrested early Monday, according to jail records.

Manuel Espinoza-Camacho was booked into the Fort Worth Jail at 3 a.m. and faces a charge of murder in the shooting death of a 38-year-old man on Sunday.

Officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office had not released the name of the victim, but Fort Worth police reports identified him as Juan Enrique Gomez.

Fort Worth patrol officers responded to a shooting call shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Market Avenue. Officers were directed to the kitchen, where they saw a man on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound.

Fort Worth police did not provide any other details on the shooting or a motive.
