Men barricade themselves in Fort Worth apartment, lead SWAT in standoff, police say
Two men who were allegedly pointing guns at people in west Fort Worth on Sunday night barricaded themselves in an apartment for hours as SWAT tried to get them to peacefully come out, police said.
The men, whose identities weren’t released, surrendered around 3:30 a.m. Monday, roughly three hours after SWAT arrived, police said. They were arrested.
Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of two men pointing guns at people in the area of the 2800 block of Las Vegas Trail, police said. They found the men at a nearby apartment complex and determined they had been involved in the incident that was reported to police.
The men holed up inside an apartment, police said.
SWAT was notified around 12:30 a.m., police said. Several subjects inside the apartment came out around 3:30 a.m., police said, and officers placed them all into custody.
The department believes only two of the individuals were involved in the incident, police said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
