Arlington and Mansfield police are looking for a thief with an eye for fine jewelry

Investigators in Arlington and Mansfield are looking for a man they believe tried to burglarize three jewelry stores.

On Dec. 7, a man turned the power off at Robbins Brothers Jewelry Store in the 100 block of Interstate 20 Service Road. He then threw objects at the store’s glass door but could not get inside.

There were still employees inside Robbins during the attempted break-in, and it’s likely the suspect was unaware that the store was occupied before he decided to leave the location.

Investigators believe the same man burglarized the Zales Outlet in the 4100 block of South Cooper Street on the next day before the business opened.

He was driving a late 1990s Chevrolet S-10 or GMC Sonoma pickup. He is between 5-feet, 10-inches and 6 feet tall, and in his late 20s to mid-30s, according to investigators.

The Zales Outlet the 1800 block of U.S. 287 Frontage Road was also burglarized on Friday before the business was open, according to the Mansfield police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Arlington Detective Daisey Blanco at 817-459-6647. Tipsters can remain anonymous by contacting Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS. Mansfield Detective Brian Bledsoe can be reached at 817-276-4743.
