North Texas resident picks out-of-this-world lottery winner on Jupiter Road in Dallas

A Dallas resident claimed a $1 million prize in the Mega Millions lottery on Sept. 1.

The second-tier game-winner was purchased at Kwik Way Grocery on Jupiter Road in far northeast Dallas. The winner elected to remain anonymous.

The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (15-25-26-38-47), but not the Mega Ball number (22), according to a release.

Mega Millions players choose five numbers from a field of 70 and one Mega Ball number from the second field of 25 numbers. To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn including the Mega Ball. Players matching fewer numbers may not win the jackpot, but still walk away winners.

Drawings are broadcast each Tuesday and Friday at 10:12 p.m. CT.
