North Texas man removed from American Airlines flight bound for DFW Airport for attacking flight attendant
Officials at the Tampa International Airport had to ground a flight headed to DFW Airport on Friday after a North Texas man was accused of battery against a flight attendant, according to multiple reports.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in the Tampa area reported that they took 24-year-old Colby Isaac Hilleary, of Greenville, into custody after the flight crew had to turn the plane around and return to Tampa International Airport.
The American Airlines flight was headed to Dallas on its way from Fort Lauderdale.
Police at the airport and federal authorities took Hilleary into custody and charged him with one count of battery and one count of a federal rule violation.
Hilleary posted a $2,000 bond and was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on Tuesday morning.
