A man and woman were found dead inside their home early Monday morning in what Grand Prairie investigators are treating as a murder-suicide related to family violence.

Grand Prairie police officers responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of Northwest 14th Street. Officers had to force their way into the residence before finding an adult female with a gunshot wound and an adult male with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police said the female was pronounced dead at the scene and the male was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said the identity of the victims will be released by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office once relatives have been notified.
