A driver trying to avoid a Texas Department of Public Safety traffic stop caused a rollover crash involving two other vehicles in Saginaw on Wednesday night, according to DPS.

A DPS trooper attempted to stop a Chevrolet Malibu due to a traffic violation on Texas 114 near the Tarrant and Wise County line about 10 p.m.

A chase was instigated when the driver refused to stop, and ended at U.S. Business 287 near Longhorn Road in Saginaw.

It was there that the Malibu driver lost control of the car, hit two vehicles, and rolled over, a DPS spokesperson said in a news release.

DPS said the driver and passenger of the Malibu were taken to a hospital, and the other drivers who were hit were not injured.

This investigation is ongoing and DPS has not released any further information.
