The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Crowley to issue a boil water advisory Wednesday due to reduced system pressure, according to a news release from the city.

As of 11:10 a.m the break in a main water break had been repaired, but the advisory is still in place until the water is repressurized and can be tested for safety.

Crews also may still be working in the area where the break was. The City of Crowley said to please use caution when traveling on E. Main Street by Walmart.

Crowley residents are recommended to boil their water prior to consumption. This includes washing hands, brushing teeth, and drinking, according to the city.

The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

Residents may also purchase bottled water if they do not want to boil and let it cool.

The public water system will alert residents once the boil water advisory is over.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact the City of Crowley at 817-297-2201.
