Two men shot in double homicide at Watauga home; capital murder suspect arrested

Watauga police are investigating a double homicide in which two men were shot Sunday night at a home in the 6000 block of Storm Drive.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the neighborhood at 11:18 p.m., police said in a news release. While investigating that call, the officers received information about the shooting and found the two men dead at a nearby residence.

A suspect was taken into custody, police said. Jail records identify the suspect as Juan Carlos Gonzalez, 64, of Watauga. He was booked into the Tarrant County Jail and faces a charge of capital murder of multiple persons, according to jail records.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified one of the shooting victims as 69-year-old Ramon Clemente Rodriguez.

Police are investigating what led to the shooting.
