A man was shot to death late Sunday in a west Fort Worth street, and police arrested a person who they allege was the shooter.

The victim, whose name and age the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released, was shot about 10 p.m. in the 100 block of Nursery Lane.

Taylor Avent, 29, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the killing, according to a Fort Worth Police Department record. Police did not publicly describe what they allege motivated the homicide.

The victim’s body was lying in the road when officers arrived.

Several witnesses heard the gunshots and saw a possible suspect leaving, a police spokesperson said.
