West 7th area shooting leaves one injured, Fort Worth police say

A man was shot and injured in the West 7th neighborhood of Fort Worth early Monday morning, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Bledsoe and Currie streets, in the city’s West 7th entertainment district, at 2:09 a.m. Monday.

When they arrived, officers found a man with a gunshot wound on his back. The man was transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Matthew Smith of Grand Prairie has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to court records. The 28-year-old is being held in the Tarrant County Jail and faces an aggravated assault charge.
