A 50-year-old woman was fatally stabbed during an argument in Mansfield on Saturday, police said.

Another woman, Jarishia Jackson, was arrested and faces a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing, according to police.

The incident started as an argument between three people: Jackson, the 50-year-old woman, and a 43-year-old man. The argument, which occurred in the 200 block of Morgan Road in Mansfield, escalated into a physical fight between the two women, police said.

When police arrived at the scene at 10:51 p.m., they found the 50-year-old woman suffering multiple stab wounds and Jackson suffering injuries as well. Paramedics treated both women at the scene and transported both of them to Methodist Mansfield Hospital. The 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m., police said.

After Jackson was released from the hospital, she was transported to the Mansfield Police Department Jail for booking, police said.

Police continue to investigate the homicide. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased.
