Man asking children for sex at Fort Worth apartments is shot in groin, police say
A man was shot on Friday, April 3, after he solicited children for sexual favors outside a south Fort Worth apartment complex, police said.
The man was shot in the groin by a person in a group of three people, according to a Fort Worth police spokesperson. The shooting victim was taken to a hospital and was stable on Friday evening.
Officers arriving about 11:45 a.m. to investigate the solicitation report heard a single gunshot.
Near a convenience store close to the apartment complex, officers saw someone who matched the description of the man who was soliciting and found that he had been shot.
The apartment complex, known as Carlyle Crossing, is in the 3700 block of Century Place.
Marckus Renfro, who was accused of being the shooter, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to police records. Renfro is 33.
The man who was shot was possibly under the influence, according to the person who reported the solicitation.
