Girl, 5, dies after riding scooter into Fort Worth street in front of vehicle
A 5-year-old girl died on Sunday after she rode her scooter out of a Fort Worth driveway and into a street in front of a vehicle that struck her, police said.
Isabella Hall died of blunt force injuries at Cook Children’s Medical Center about six hours after the 3 p.m. accident in the 1900 block of Portland Street, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Isabella landed underneath a parked vehicle on the north side of the street. The driver stopped and found her under the car, Fort Worth police said.
The driver helped with CPR until emergency personnel arrived.
Isabella was pronounced dead at Cook Children’s about 9:30 p.m.
The 5-year-old was “a bright and beautiful soul,” according to a GoFundMe fundraiser organized to help her family with the expenses of a planning a memorial service.
“Isabella ‘Bella’ was taken from her family in a tragic accident while enjoying a sunny afternoon playing on her scooter,” the GoFundMe organizer wrote. “Her sudden passing has left her loved ones heartbroken and struggling to make sense of a life so full of joy, promise, and love, now cut far too short.”
