Woman critically injured in shooting outside Saginaw home, police say

A woman was critically injured in a shooting outside a Saginaw home Friday night, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Hampshire Street about 9:50 p.m. after a 911 caller reported possible fireworks in the area, according to a Saginaw Police Department news release. On the way there, they learned a woman had been shot.

The responding officers found the injured woman in the driveway of a house on South Hampshire Street. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said in the release.

Investigators say the shooting was an isolated incident. No arrests have been announced.
