20-year-old suspected drunk driver arrested in crash that killed Fort Worth mom
A 20-year-old suspected drunk driver has been arrested in connection with a wrong-way crash that caused the death of Brytni Elliott, who was a Fort Worth mother, nursing director and wife of a Keller Independent School District coach.
Eduardo Partida was arrested in Parker County nearly two months after the collision.
Brytni Elliott was killed when the SUV she was driving in with her family was hit by a drunk driver — later identified as Partida — who was going the wrong way on Boat Club Road on Sept. 17, Fort Worth police said.
Brytni Elliott died at the scene of the crash, and her husband, Spencer Elliott, and their 12-year-old daughter, Allie, were injured and taken to the hospital. The couple's oldest daughter and son were not with them at the time.
Partida was also critically injured in the collision and was hospitalized during the investigation. Following his release from the hospital, Fort Worth police said, warrants were issued on Nov. 14, and Partida was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety about 4:30 p.m. Nov 15.
Partida faces charges of Intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle, and two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injuries. He was being held Monday in the Parker County Jail.
According to Fort Worth police, Partida was driving a Dodge Ram south in the northbound lanes of Boat Club Road when he hit the Elliott family’s Ford Expedition head on.
Brytni Elliott celebrated her 37th birthday a week before the crash, according to social media posts. She had worked for JPS Health Network since 2021, most recently serving as lead nurse and director of nursing at Tarrant County correctional facilities.
She “found her greatest joy in being a wife and mother, and she carried those roles with pride, love, and endless devotion,” her family wrote in her obituary. “Brytni was also deeply passionate about her career in the medical field as a nurse, where she cared for others with the same compassion and selflessness she gave her family.”
Spencer Elliott teaches anatomy and physiology at Keller High School, according to the staff directory, and serves as an assistant football and softball coach for the district.
