Toddler injured in Fort Worth rollover crash. Woman faces drunk driving charges
A toddler was injured Tuesday night in a rollover crash in east Fort Worth and a suspected drunk driver has been arrested, according to police and EMS officials.
Witnesses told officers that a vehicle was speeding through a construction zone along East Loop 820 near East Berry Street when it hit a concrete barrier and rolled over, according to Fort Worth police.
The driver, an adult passenger and a small child were taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said. The driver was arrested after being released from the hospital, and she faces an intoxication assault charge.
The driver was identified in jail records as 31-year-old Tanisha Richardson. She also faces a charge of abandoning or endangering a child, and additional charges related to out-of-town warrants.
Detectives from the Traffic Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Unit will continue to investigate the crash. A Fire Department EMS spokesperson said that the injured child is a toddler, who remains hospitalized. Information about the condition of the adults who were injured, including the driver, wasn’t immediately available.
