Suspect arrested in crash that killed woman near Fort Worth Meacham Airport
A suspect was arrested Sept. 19 in connection with the crash that killed a 21-year-old woman near Fort Worth Meacham Airport last month.
Raney Monds, 21, was booked into the Tarrant County Jail and released on $25,000 bond. She faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter, according to court records. It’s not clear if Monds has obtained an attorney to represent her.
Officers responded to a call about the fatal accident at 150 Terminal Road about 4 a.m. on Aug. 17. Two vehicles had collided head-on, according to Fort Worth police. Alyssa Loughry, a passenger in the car driven by Monds, died at the scene, according to a police crash report.
“Alyssa was always the brightest light in the room, kind, generous and always a positive force and was an amazing older sister to her siblings,” the 21-year-old’s online obituary states. “She made a mark on many people in her short time with us.”
Loughry’s family has organized a GoFundMe to help cover her funeral expenses. As of Thursday, it had raised about $7,000 of the $8,000 goal.
As a condition of her bond, Monds will be required to have an ignition interlock device, which tests the driver’s breath for alcohol, on any car she drives.
