A man accused of stealing a vehicle and hitting several cars was arrested after a SWAT standoff Wednesday night, Fort Worth police said. A second suspect was taken into custody earlier that evening.

Jorge Cabello Arenas, 41, and Juan Antonio Gomez, 26, are being held in the Fort Worth City Jail on Thursday. They both face a charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, according to police records. Arenas also faces a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle and deadly conduct, and Gomez faces a drug possession charge.

Police said the two men were occupying a stolen vehicle and fled from officers. After crashing into several cars, the vehicle came to a stop around South Grove Street, in south Fort Worth. Gomez was taken into custody, but Arenas ran away from the scene and entered a house.

Nearly 30 SWAT units were dispatched to the area starting around 7:15 p.m., according to the call sheet. Arenas was arrested a few hours later.

There were no reports of injuries to the officers or suspects.
